What does the torque sensor on the DYU T1 change in real riding?

It measures how hard you pedal and adds assistance in proportion to your effort, so power feels more natural than a basic on/off cadence sensor. It is one of the T1's biggest reasons to choose it.

Does the DYU T1 actually have gears?

Yes. DYU's current T1 specification includes a Shimano 7-speed transmission. That is useful even with electric assistance because you can select an easier mechanical gear for hills and a taller gear for faster flat riding. This is worth knowing because some older reseller specification tables incorrectly describe the T1 as a single-speed bike.

Is the T1 easy to carry just because it folds?

No. Folding makes the T1 much easier to store or put in a car, but at roughly 22.5kg it is still a full e-bike. It is better for occasional lifting than repeated carrying up several flights of stairs.

Is the T1 a good choice for longer city rides?

Yes. Its 20-inch wheels, 36V 10Ah battery, torque sensor and 7-speed gearing give it a more bicycle-like feel than the smallest DYU folders. DYU quotes up to around 60km of assisted range under favourable conditions. If your priority is natural-feeling pedal assistance rather than simply having the smallest folded bike, the T1 is one of the strongest options in this DYU group.

Is the DYU T1 Foldable Electric Bike easy to assemble?

The DYU T1 Foldable Electric Bike arrives mostly assembled. Final setup normally includes aligning and securing the handlebars, fitting the pedals and completing essential safety checks. Allow approximately 20–30 minutes, or select our professional assembly and PDI service.

Is the DYU T1 Foldable Electric Bike water resistant?

The DYU T1 Foldable Electric Bike is not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain, and never submerge or pressure wash the bike or its electrical components. After riding in wet conditions, wipe the bike dry and store it in a dry, sheltered location.
