How long will the Helsinki take to heat from cold?

Heating time varies with the temperature of the incoming water and the outside air. On a typical UK summer day, allow around 6–12 hours to reach 40°C. Keep the insulating lid and top cover fitted during heating for better heat retention.

How much space should I leave for the Helsinki and its pump?

The Helsinki liner is approximately 180 cm in diameter and reaches about 223 cm at its widest point with the external pump attached. Leave extra clearance around the pump and connections, and use a strong, flat and level base.

Can the Helsinki remain set up during cold weather?

The Helsinki includes Freeze Shield protection, but it only works while the pump remains connected to power. When the water temperature drops to around 4°C, the system circulates and heats it to approximately 10°C to help prevent freezing. Continue normal water care and follow the manual during prolonged or severe cold.

Do I need chemicals to use for the Lay-Z-Spa Helsinki Hot Tub?

Yes. Hot tub chemicals are required to keep the water clean, safe and properly balanced. You will normally need chlorine or bromine, pH treatments and testing strips. Chemicals are not included unless specifically stated on the product page, but compatible starter kits are available separately.
